In 2013, the year that Hey Gorgeous is credited with being responsible for Hong’s discovery, she was one of the semifinalists in the talent search competition. During the event holding the talent quest, she was introduced to the audience using her Thai name, Somaline Ang. Since she was a contestant on the show, she started using the Chinese version of her name, Hong Ling. She did this because she discovered that it was much easier to pronounce. In 2014, she received a provisional certificate after completing her studies at the Singapore Media Academy.
She was scouted while attending Temasek Polytechnic; however, she dropped out of school rather than continue her education to pursue a career in acting rather than finishing her degree.
Hong Ling is a young girl who never loses her composure and speaks in a soft style. She is an imposing young lady. After Hong Ling had completed her training at an acting academy, she was allowed to further her acting career by appearing in films.
Hong Lim is the product of a Chinese Singaporean mother and a Thai father. Both of his parents were born in Thailand.
Hong obtained his secondary education credential from Fuchun Secondary School. Her family consists of a brother and a sister in addition to her. When she is in her parents’ house, Hong Ling frequently plays the part of the youngest child in the family; since her younger brother and sister are the ones who are constantly keeping an eye out for her best interests.
Nick Teo, also an actor, popped the question “will you marry me” to Hong Ling while they were on a yacht while the sun was setting, and the two have since decided to get married.
