Andrea Chong was subjected to sexual harassment numerous times.
While Andrea and her assistant Elsie set up their new office space in 2017, They hired a mover whom they liked because he seemed sincere and decent. But then, Andrea received a lewd text message from that delivery guy. She wasn’t the intended recipient; the sender had mistakenly sent it to her! The message was a photo with some text underneath, and it was Andrea’s photo, with the caption “No bra inside one.” She also had an experience in Bangkok when someone inappropriately touched Andrea’s arm at a restaurant. She only wanted to eat dinner with friends that night, but as she arrived home, she couldn’t stop washing her arm. She was also catcalled by a group of AV-Crew Guys while taking a photo outside the National Gallery. Andrea Chong has never shown too much skin in her sexual harassment experiences. Even so, it is not permissible to harass a woman. It will never be acceptable to do it to a woman.Those men did not physically attack Andrea, but those experiences psychologically harmed her for the rest of her life.Andrea stood firm despite her terrifying experiences. Because her boyfriend at the time, who is now her husband, has always been very supportive of her.
In March 2020, Andrea Chong married Singaporean lawyer Imran Rahim. The couple began dating while attending Victoria Junior College and have been engaged since 2018.
Their engagement took place during a boat ride in the Maldives. It’s just the two of them and their skipper. At first, they only have a usual couple of photos. When the sunset arrived, Imran immediately called Andrea to sit next to him and handed her a piece of paper with the words “will you marry me?” Andrea was shocked, but she eventually said yes.
Andrea announced her pregnancy on Instagram in September 2020.
Her first pregnancy was not going as smoothly as she had hoped. She was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and required hospitalisation to have her blood pressure, and platelet count monitored every 4 hours. Her delivery would have to go through via C-Section, Doctor told her. The doctor will give her medication to help her child’s lungs grow more substantial. Everything was painful for her! Her blood pressure was not improving, and her liver began to malfunction.Andrea experienced nervousness and panic attacks. She is thankful that Imran is by her side, holding her hand and allowing her to believe that he is there for her and their baby.Today, they are the proud parents of two healthy, lovely children.
