Muhammad Taufik Bin Batisah, better known by his stage as Taufic Batisah, emerged victorious in the inaugural season of the reality television competition series Singapore Idol. He is a Singaporean with an ancestry mix of Bugis and Indians.
Taufik was a contestant on the pilot season of the reality television show Singapore Idol, which aired in 2004. Taufik was crowned the winner of Singapore Idol at Singapore Indoor Stadium in front of an audience of 1.8 million people throughout the country.
Following his victory, Taufik secured several endorsements deals with various brands.
Additional accolades were bestowed upon him during the Anugerah Planet Muzik 07 event. His track “Usah Lepaskan,” which translates to “Don’t Let Go,” received both the award for the Most Popular Singapore Song and the Best Singapore Song, in addition to being chosen the Most Popular Singapore Artiste. Ria 89.7FM ranked Usah Lepaskan as the best song of the year. It received the number one spot.
The Original Idol of Singapore, Taufik Batisah, has emerged as a leading real estate agent in recent years. Taufik Batisah was one of the few persons who, including himself, did not anticipate that his career path would develop in the way that it did. The Singapore Polytechnic graduate in Marine Engineering planned to finish his national service and then begin sailing. After some time passed, he would consider returning to school to earn an advanced diploma. In 2004, he was given the title of Singapore Idol thanks to Lady Luck (or Lady Fame, depending on your point of view).
Since then, he has released several albums in Singapore and regionally, ventured into acting on TV, film, and stage, and picked up multiple awards for his singing and acting chops. One of these awards is the Pesta Perdana 2019 TV Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role – Drama Special, which he won for the telemovie Gunting. Other awards include the Pesta Perdana 2019 TV Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Comedy Special. In 2018, he co-founded the fried chicken restaurant Chix Hot Chicken, which serves chicken prepared in a way similar to that of Nashville. In October last year, the man with many hats expanded his already impressive portfolio by including the position of Real Estate Agent.
Taufik is not the first star to transition into a career in real estate, nor will he be the last to do so in the future. Other movies and television actors who have transitioned into the agent world include Benjamin Heng and industry veterans Lynn Poh and Yang Libing. Taufik is off to a blazing start in this competition. He was the first member in his family to pass the infamously tricky Real Estate Salesperson exam on his first attempt (“I was incredibly blessed!”).
Taufic resides in the Executive Maisonette (EM) in the West that he and his mother first purchased nine years ago. His father worked in the field of interior design when his son was a child. Taufic remembers seeing him in an HDB apartment with a staircase; ever since then, that has been his ideal house.
When Taufic finally reached the point where he could buy his own home, he didn’t consult anyone for guidance; instead, he just did it! Since Taufic is self-employed, he does not have a significant amount of CPF; thus, he has been paying for it primarily with cash. As an agent, Taufic has concluded that it is beneficial to use some money.
