“I believe that the best gift you can give yourself is the space to connect, feel and reflect”, says Aislinn Derbez who is an actor, entrepreneur, producer, blogger, and mom. Aislinn Derbez is the granddaughter of Latino superstar Sivia Derbez and the daughter of Eugenio Derbez who is considered to be one of the most popular Mexican actors. Aislinn was born and brought up in Mexico City and she later moved to New York to pursue theatre at the prestigious school of Visual Arts.
From Sets and theatre classes to Hollywood
“I didn’t want to be an actress,” said Aislinn in an episode of American Latino, where Latino talents like Aislinn are celebrated and interviewed. Aislinn added that since she has grown up on film sets because both her grandmother and her father were famous actors, young Aislinn made up her mind to not continue the legacy but in her own words, she couldn’t resist becoming an actor, when she started pursuing theatre in New York her love and passion for acting kept growing like a bud and as she turned 15 she started modelling, in the year 2009 she made her debut in the Mexican film industry. She has been a part of numerous movies and TV series in Mexico, South America, Europe, and now Hollywood. She has been a part of more than 20 feature films and recently this Latino queen hit the bullseye and won the jackpot by starring in a Netflix original called “Easy” which is a comedy-drama. She is not only winning hearts in the Mexican film industry but also dazzling people and leaving her spark by paving her way into Hollywood. Aislinn has also appeared in several music videos.

Actor, producer, businesswoman, model and a mom, Aislinn is a real life adaptation of DC’s Wonder Woman
When asked about how she manages to not lose her charm and how Hollywood is different from the Mexican film industry, Aislinn said that Hollywood is extremely competitive, there’s constant competition and you have to give your 105% because everyone is talented in LA but according to Aislinn the only way to make it to Hollywood safe and sane is to not let it affect you mentally. Aislinn likes to keep the fear and anxiety away from the audition process because she thinks that it’s more fun that way. Aislinn Derbez is mom to Kailani Ochmann and in one of her Instagram posts, she said that being a mom completely transforms you, motherhood is the most incredible, hard, strong, wonderful, confronting, mind-blowing, rough, extraordinary, and exhausting experience.
Apart from modelling and acting, Aislinn also owns a production company called Atoda Madre, she’s also an entrepreneur and owns a clothing line called Merkaba, a jewellery line called Morena Corazon, and a sustainable eco-friendly cosmetic brand called Amainnatural which she started with her friend Marianna Burelli. Aislinn continues to empower and influence people globally with her podcasts and social media. Her determination and positive outlook on life are what makes her so relatable.
