The transition to digital to Alex Gonzaga, a popular figure in many Filipino homes, gave her the chance to take control of her content. The well-known television host and actress has amassed 11.5 million YouTube subscribers, with her earliest video dating back to July 2017. This is primarily due to her seamless, sincere humor and genuineness, which have won the hearts of Pinoys everywhere.
Millions of Filipinos have found solace in her funny films, most of which have received millions of views. Alex doesn’t mind getting up close and personal with influential personalities, including talks with politicians like Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto and Vice President Leni Robredo, which has given her following a boost.
Alex narrates, “It’s not [my] decision [to switch to digital]. For me, it’s like God’s plan because, during those times, I [didn’t] have any work [on] TV, and I felt that everything I was doing in the mainstream media was not authentic or genuine to who I am. So I started to do social media and upload content, wherein I am happy with what I’m showing, and it’s really who I am.”
She struggled to balance her education with her life as a star during her early years in television. Eventually, She earned a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Education from the University of Asia and the Pacific. I think it’s because I was studying as well; I struggled to balance my schedule to balance my [studies]. I’m trying to build this career in show business, which consumes most of my time, so it’s the same with school. I have to juggle my studies and calling for the next six years of my life.
In an interview with wonder, her ascent to digital stardom, which has already seen all of her YouTube videos receive one billion views, has its own particular set of difficulties. She has had to remain innovative and current as her fan base expands and new platforms appear. “I [didn’t put] much effort into the first three years because, parang, all the ideas just came to me. Of course, now that I’m in my fourth and almost fifth year, most of the content or items have already been completed. I need to be more imaginative,” she says.
Alex has had to balance her highly public role with her private life, particularly as someone who wears her heart on her sleeve. She enjoys finding delight in her own life’s events, even when some of them are embarrassing, and sharing it with her admirers. If Mikee and my family hadn’t been there, she says, “I would have discussed many things, but I genuinely don’t care because I find all my previous events humorous. I can always find humor in my circumstances, drama, and situations, and I want to share that with others since that is who I am.
“I always want to [be] an open book to everyone I meet, parang I always give them my stories because I’m not ashamed,” she continues, “but because I have my husband and family, they constantly remind me that I should be private, in a way, and should not reveal everything.”
Alex Gonzaga continues to be a combative character in this always-shifting media environment, evolving with the times. The former artist who now creates content continues to rule conventional and non-conventional screens and is working on several intriguing new projects. “I’m extremely enthusiastic about what’s happening and what’s going to happen in my life, and I’m thrilled that I’m still with Issy,” she says. She continues, “I have a movie coming up, and I have [an] everyday show, so whatever comes my way, I will be pleased to take it. I still want to encourage positivity as I want to promote self-love; I still want to advocate liking who you are.
Many people have used the digital environment to foster their creativity. There is no denying Mrs. Gonzaga-continued Morada’s dominance, complete narrative control, wit, and ability to find joy (and fun) in any circumstance.
In the end, Alex’s desire to entertain people drives her to keep creating despite the obstacles in her way—many of which the general public is unaware of. Alex has found opportunities in a very different platform. She is a strong-willed woman who gives Filipinos worldwide a great deal of delight. We can all take charge of our circumstances even when the future is unknown.
