Chloe Ting is a Singapore-based YouTube fitness personality. She is well-known for her YouTube training programs, especially her “Two Week Shred Challenge,” which gained popularity during the 2020 pandemic on TikTok and YouTube. Ting emigrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at the age of 16, having been born in Brunei. She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University and went on to earn a Master of Philosophy there as well. A NASM-certified personal trainer, Ting also works out.
Ting relocated to Singapore in 2021 after leaving Melbourne. Adrian is Ting’s collaborator in video creation and lover. Ting was an actuarial analyst before launching a YouTube channel. She had served as chair of the Australasian Finance & Banking Conference, published a thesis on financial markets, and more. In 2011, Ting launched her own YouTube channel while she was still employed as a statistician. When she was 29 years old, in March 2016, she began sharing videos. Her material initially covered travel and fashion, but by 2017, her channel was solely dedicated to fitness.
Her “Get Abs in Two Weeks” video from August 2019 gained popularity as other bloggers and vloggers attempted the exercises it featured. That video has received 220 million views as of October 2020. Ting’s “Two Week Shred Challenge” gained traction on the video-sharing platform TikTok in the summer of 2020, when many people were quarantined as a result of COVID-19. Ting’s YouTube channel had over 22 million subscribers as of October 2021. Ting appeared on charts across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia in the official YouTube report for top trending videos and creators in 2020, which was published in December of that year.
Ting was identified by Digital Journal as the most significant producer of at-home exercise content. Ting was the winner of a Streamy Award in the Health & Wellness category at the 2020 Streamy Awards. Ting was a finalist for both the Best Online Entertainment category at the 2020 AACTA Awards and the Health & Wellness (Creative & Media) category at the 2020 Shorty Awards. Ting was a 2021 Streamy Award nominee in the Health and Wellness category.
It will depend on the individual whether or not their series is worthwhile, but I can speak from personal experience. For me, who has spent the past seven months primarily focusing on cardio with light dumbbell training in between, doing routines that didn’t require any equipment (some of which you could possibly even perform without shoes) was refreshing. I also appreciated that Ting included low-impact variations of some of his more strenuous exercises. Some even made it clear whether or not there was any jumping involved. This function is quite beneficial if you’re prone to injury or are just starting to get back into a regular fitness regimen.
There are a lot of before-and-after photographs online if you search for them, but Ting’s training is effective as well. It’s true that some of her success may stem from the trendiness of her exercise (and TikTok). The length of her programs, which span one week, two weeks, and an entire month, ranging from five minutes to more than 20 minutes. Before beginning one of Ting’s 30-minute full-body circuits, I advise starting with one of her shorter workouts (this ab workout has received over 300 million views for a reason). The focal areas listed below can be further narrowed based on the type of exercise (warm-up, strength, and tone, HIIT and cardio, or cool down). The fact remains, nevertheless, that Ting’s exercises are also very attainable. They’re cost-free, don’t require special gear or attire (unless you choose an exercise that employs weights or resistance bands), and are frequently adaptable to different ability levels. No gym membership is necessary.
