Dareen Al-Yawar is a Saudi style blogger, individual customer, design expert and originator, and pioneer behind the abaya brand Dal by Dareen. Al-Yawar’s bold, yet elegant, designs are well-known. Dareen Al Yawar claims that fashion for her is not just a brand name or magazine image. Everything that involves fabrics, details, colors, trends, cuts, and styles is considered fashion. Fashion is also an attitude and a way of life. She is drawn to art in every way.
She has always wanted to make her own clothes and be a designer. She was 12 years old when it all started. Be that as it may, harking back to the 90s, it wasn’t as natural as today since they didn’t have style schools, so she picked craftsmanship since it was her second most loved thing.
She graduated in 2004 and began her most memorable line with a gathering of companions. However, after she got married, she stopped and moved to Dubai for a few years, where she worked as a stylist for Dubai TV’s makeover show. she was the channel’s first Saudi and Khaleeji stylist. After that, in 2009, she relocated once more to Jeddah as she pursued another goal: becoming a mother.
Dareen wore abayas all the time when she was the makeover stylist on the television show. she used to wear her own designs or call her Jeddah-based designer friends because she didn’t like abayas back then. A lot of people used to call me asking about my abayas. Because it was not part of her dream, she turned them down. she thought she was a designer for prêt-à-porter. Her husband advised her to try a capsule collection to see what would happen when she returned to Jeddah after receiving so many calls. In 2012, she did that, and it sold out. Her customers then requested a new collection from me. That was the beginning.
Dareen adores traditional fabrics and clothing. She also adores the details in them, but she also loves trends because she is a stylist. Therefore, she contemplated combining them to keep her ladies up to date on the most recent fashions while still retaining a sense of their roots. Dareen could be inspired by the most recent fashion trends, places she visits, people she meets, cartoons with her daughter, jewelry, buttons, and just about anything else.
Dareen is of the opinion that there are a lot of abaya designers in the country; however, based on designs, concepts, and fabrics, people are able to tell who is good and who is not. They have a lot of bad copies, but they also have good designers. In our nation, women are required to wear abayas, so she assumes that everyone can succeed in this market by being unique.
