Everything About UK’s Fitness Chef: Dale Pinnock

Dale Pinnock, also known as The Medicinal Chef, is a nutritionist, chef, author, and TV host whose passion for food dates back to his early years. Dale developed acne at the juvenile age of 11, and he realised that conventional treatment was ineffective for him. He made the decision to conduct his own research, starting a 5-year passion that saw him devour over a thousand books on the subject. At the University of Surrey, he earned degrees in Human Nutrition and a postgraduate diploma in Nutritional Medicine.

Dale, who loves cooking along with everything science, supported his academic endeavours by working in restaurants as everything from a kitchen assistant to a head chef. In addition to writing over 14 books on nutrition and health, including well-known works like The Medicinal Chef: Eat Your Way to Better Health and Medicinal Chef: The Power of Three, Dale juggles a tight schedule of TV hosting, podcast hosting, and course teaching.

Out of all his passions, the greatest passion Dale has is educating people about the value of healthy eating. After 25 years in the business, he doesn’t believe in fad diets and instead advocates for the benefits of healthy, wholesome food on health. Recipes for any condition, including respiratory issues, anxiety, and cosmetic imperfections, can be found in his books. When he had skin problems as a teenager, he had to face a lot of bullying and self-image issues which made his teenage years really difficult for him. Dale was far from an ideal eater at that point. After trying unsuccessfully to get his acne treated by many doctors, he was handed a book about nutrition. This book motivated him to stop smoking, eating meat, and drinking most dairy items. He substituted by preparing his meals with nutrient-dense whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

After a substantial number of years, Dale is now regarded as one of the world’s leading nutritionists. He is a Sunday Times bestselling author of 18 books that have been released in 22 countries and 19 different languages. He frequently appears on shows including ITV’s This Morning, Lorraine, and is a presenter on ITV’s popular consumer program “Eat Shop Save” as a spokesperson for nutrition and health in the British media. He frequently appears on shows like Talk Radio, BBC Three Counties, Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2, Chris Evans Show on Virgin Radio, and others. In Dale’s own words: “I have one purpose. To bring you accessible, understandable, evidence-based information on nutrition so that you can take back control of your health!”
