Nayar is a self-made Indian Billionaire businesswoman who is the originator/founder and CEO of the beauty and lifestyle retail corporation Nykaa. She founded Nykaa in 2012 with an elite sight of creating a multi-brand omnichannel beauty-focused retail business.
By designating consumer preferences and fostering brands to attain the range and depth of the countryside, Nykaa has emerged as India’s ushering beauty merchandiser recreating a critical part in forging the beauty market in India.
Nayar’s Journey
Nayar was born and raised in a Gujarati family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She pursued her graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and was a postgraduate from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
She wedded Sanjay Nayar in 1987, whom she encountered at the business academy. Her husband is the CEO of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts India. Her 2 children are Adwaita Nayar and Anchit Nayar.
In 1993, Nayar became a part of Kotak Mahindra Group for 19 years. In 2005, she was designated as an (MD)managing director and exited the group in 2012.

Nykaa was worth $2.3 billion as of 2021, carrying Nayar’s luck to an evaluation of $1.1 billion. Nykaa founder and CEO Falguni Nayar have evolved as the wealthiest new entrant in the Hurun Global Rich List 2022, encouraged by the beauty company’s stellar IPO and market debut.
According to the Forbes real-time billionaires list, Nayar has a net worth of approximately $5 billion.
Nykaa’s marquee investors now include US personal equity giant TPG Growth and billionaires Harsh Mariwala and Harry Banga. The company markets approximately 1,350 beauty and personal care trademarks online and via its network of marts across the country.
Falguni Nayar’s Accomplishments
As of today, guiding a team of around 1600 Nykaa-products, Falguni has assembled beauty and lifestyle retail empire with a portfolio of 1500+ trademarks, including its label, which is functional online and across 68 marts in India. Nykaa’s remuneration transcended to Rs. One thousand two hundred crores in FY19 is on track to exceed Rs. 2000 crores in FY20. On November 10, last year, Nykaa was also documented on the BSE and NSE.
