You probably wouldn’t recognize Gabbi Garcia, a 23-year-old actress, and singer, if you passed her on the street unless you were specifically looking for her or had your radar tuned to her strides. Our intent is not malice. She never draws attention to herself, whether she wears or talks to others. There aren’t any strict requirements, only the occasional request, and when it’s time to bring her A-game, she always delivers.
Gabbi participated in several talent shows and beauty pageants as a teen, so she is not a newcomer to the spotlight. Despite her extensive performance history, she was unprepared to enter the world of contract artistry at the tender age of 15. It was gradual and immediate (not to quote John Green too heavily). One simple invitation to a VTR audition with GMA Network led to three additional auditions and a contract signing that would make anyone feel on top of the world.
We’re familiar with her identity and have seen the sparkle in her eyes whenever she’s on camera or in front of a microphone. We have seen her rise to fame firsthand through her work in shows like Encantadia, the just-finished Pamilya Roces and endorsement deals with major brands like Pond’s the Philippines and Bench.
Here’s where you may say, “and the rest, as they say, is history.”
And just this August, on her Instagram update, the actress’s first extended vacation away from her parents was a trip to California with her boyfriend, actor Khalil Ramos.
Actress Kate Hudson took to Instagram on August 31 to thank her parents for allowing her to go on the trip. Garcia also mentioned that her mom, who works as an FA, made an extra effort to fly with them.
“It’ll be my first long vacation without them. Thank you for allowing me to do this,” she addressed her parents. “I appreciate it. I’m blessed to have parents who allow me to grow independently. Thank you for trusting me.”
“My mom even made arrangements with her flight [schedule] as a crew so she could personally assist [Khalil] and me,” she added.
As they boarded the plane, Garcia and Ramos snapped pictures with her mother’s coworkers and described how her father had waved her off from the airport.
In August last year, the actress shared a photo on Instagram Stories of herself and Ramos riding shotgun in a car.
