Filipa, who began out as a travel and leisure content maker, has become a vocal member of the BIPOC community and is passionate about sharing her experiences as a new mother. Filipa Jackson was born in Leeds, England in 1989. In 2004, she relocated to Toronto, Canada as an aspiring actor and model. She frequently got captivated while on set by the delights of the wardrobe section. Filipa saw this as a calling and changed her career to become a stylist for clothing. She has had the privilege of interacting with some of the most important figures in Toronto’s fashion industry while working on multiple published editorials. Filipa has had the privilege of designing for a range of clients for distinguished occasions, including the Cannes Film Festival, the Emmys, and TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival).
Filipa has always been honest about her distressing and trying experience with infertility. They had their first daughter following planned intercourse, IUI, and finally IVF. They believed they would need to use IVF for their second child, but it turns out they did not. Filipa’s tale demonstrates how frustrating the world of infertility can be. She didn’t feel normal because she didn’t know anyone else going through what they were. This caused her to embark on an extremely challenging and lonely reproductive journey. She didn’t realise how wrong she was until she talked about their difficulties after learning she was pregnant.
Although every tale is different, there are a lot of people who deal with infertility, and the community for those who are TTC (trying to conceive) is tremendously helpful. She wished she had spoken up sooner because she realised how important that community was to her mental health when they were trying to conceive their second child. Her advice to new parents is to ask questions, conduct their own research, and fight for proper consideration of both parties (male and female). Unfortunately, the female bears a lot of the burden in the domain of fertility. In that instance, she had extensive Filipa underwent testing repeatedly while her husband merely had to submit to a simple sperm test, which he passed. They could have avoided thousands of dollars and years of grief if they had dug further into the male side from the start, something they did later on.
Filipa established Playing With Apparel as a platform for her views and ideas since she enjoys expressing life’s realities. She keeps sharing her vulnerabilities with her audience by writing articles about various fashion/beauty goods and trends, as well as advice on how to handle parenting. Filipa started her blog, “Playing With Apparel,” out of her love of fashion as a way to share her ideas and thoughts. She continues to publish articles about various fashion and beauty trends and products while also showcasing her occasionally eccentric and constantly evolving personal style. She has 100k Instagram followers and a 2.1% interaction rate. Filipa has a blog called “playing with apparel” where she shares information about daily fashion, blogs about events in her life, travel blogs, and baby fashion. She also offers guidance and shares everything that happened to her during her pregnancy. For the new parents, the fact that she owns Kylo & Co. was a wonderful dream come true.
