On October 8, users of the baking-focused blog Coco Cake Land were given access to two cakes that were different from the whimsical, chocolate-covered concoctions that are typically displayed there. The pink-hued cakes, shaped like a set of breasts, came with a blog entry outlining blogger Lyndsay Sung’s recent breast cancer diagnosis and the subsequent treatment that completely changed her life. She spoke about receiving her diagnosis, the extensive therapies that followed, and the rollercoaster of feelings that went along with each difficult step. So that’s where I’m at right now, Sung said in his final statement. “An eight-month fog of mental f*ckery, physical changes, anxiety, depression, and happy days. I’ve struggled a lot thus far this year. Nonetheless, I’m still here.
