When asked recently why she never travels abroad, famous voice singer Inka Magnaye stated on TikTok that she has difficulty justifying the expense.
Inka is a breadwinner.
“Long story short, I can’t afford it,” Inka said. “As much as I know that travel would be good for me, these are expenses that I just can’t justify on my own.”
“Airfare there and back is the rent I’ll be paying. My food and lodging for that trip alone would cost as much as my groceries combined. My bills can be paid with the money I save on transportation and pocket money.”
Inka speculated that she is “hyper-conscious of these duties that I now have” because of the loss of her family’s business when she was a youngster.
“I’m the primary breadwinner of my home, so these are things that I need to think about and not just the current bills that I have,” she said.
Accordingly, she had never left the country before and had never heard her voice-over for Philippine Airlines in flight until this trip.
On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, this information was shared via TikTok when one of Inka’s fans said, “You looked affluent who can afford to travel.”
When asked why she hadn’t gone anywhere, Inka said it was because she “couldn’t afford” to.
Voicing artist, age 33, explains, “In my mind, vacationing abroad is always a good time.
“I’m in another country. That’s so cool,” she said while tearing up and taking deep breaths. “The Philippines was all I’d ever known, and other countries had only lived in my imagination.”
“I feel so grateful, so lucky. It’s like the world has become real for me, not just what I watch in documentaries or read in the news,” she added in her caption.
“Then I think about plane tickets, accommodations, food, pocket money for whatever I need, transportation, and giveaways.
“And you know, as much as I know that travel will be good for me, these are expenses that I can’t justify on my own.
“Kasi, the way I think of it is the plane tickets to and from will be my rent. The food and accommodation alone for that trip would be my groceries.
“Transportation and pocket money can go to my bills.”
Inka previously said on TikTok that she has never left the country due to financial constraints, but she vowed to change that soon.
