Iya Villania admitted in front of her husband and colleague, TV anchor Drew Arellano that she was the one who made the “first move” in their courtship as they were reflecting on the beginning of their romance.
Yesterday, September 5, the first episode of their podcast, titled “Life with the Arellanos,” was released. In the episode, the couple, who first met on the set of the early 2000s series “Click,” reflected on important events that led up to the beginning of their romantic relationship.
Villania began by describing the moment she realized she liked Arellano, then she revealed that she had made the “first move” on him. She regarded Arellano as “mature”, and unlike the other cast members of “Click,” she did not find him to be flirty.
In all honesty, I believe that the difference in our ages was the primary factor that led to developing my feelings toward you. To Arellano, she remarked, “You had matured and moved past the stage of flirtation when we first met. Yes, I was the one who made Drew the object of my advances. The two also recalled how, at first, Drew wanted to set up their co-star Sid Lucero with Iya since he, too, felt she was attractive, but she was scared to approach him. Drew and Sid Lucero had worked together previously on the show.
Iya remarked, “I believe that was when I had to confront the truth that I genuinely liked you,” amid all the thoughtful gestures that Sid did toward her, such as purchasing a variety of cheesecake tastes. “I believe that was when I had to confront the fact that I liked you.” After a few months had passed, and while working on a separate album, the two discovered that they had feelings for one another. Iya made her move at a quiet moment between the two of them when she went in for the first kiss.
I was going to ask for your permission to kiss you since I was sure you would do the same for me, but you declined. Iya recalled the event, much to Drew’s delight, and said something along the lines of: “In point of fact, he became disinterested because he thought to himself, “This girl is rude.” After the two continued to exchange passionate kisses but neglected to give their relationship a name, Iya questioned Drew about it while riding in the car.
When I asked him where we were, he said, “I’m delighted you asked because I think I’m ready,” Drew laughed as Iya retold the event to him. Iya had asked him where we were. Who of us, if either of us is the woman, is the other one of us?”
The couple is aware that their past is one of a kind and that neither their families nor the entertainment industry was ever kept in the dark about their connection. In addition, the couple has never tried to hide their relationship from the public.
Following that, Arellano and Villania began a romantic relationship, and in 2014, they tied the knot in a private ceremony held in Batangas. They married for four years and have been blessed with four children: Primo, Leon, Alana, and the newest addition, Astro.
