Sandara Park is one of the most famous influencers and also an artist not just in the Philippines but also in South Korea.
She has been one of the top celebrities in South Korea for the past decade before the main boom of the KPOP industry. She is currently one of the most sought-after faces in Asia and has successfully secured several sponsorship deals.
Dara’s father ran a successful business, but it failed when she was eight. When she was 10, the family moved to the Philippines to revive her father’s career.
She could not, however, speak Filipino. So, on her first day of school, the other pupils made fun of her pronunciation when she attempted to talk to them.
She thus lost her voice and had difficulty making friends during her first year in the Philippines. She spent most of that time alone, and she struggled mightily to fit in.
Dara also had a hectic upbringing because she frequently remained home all day to look after her younger siblings. In addition, she felt a particular feeling of responsibility from an early age because she was the oldest child.
She eventually overcame these challenges, made some friends, and started interacting more with the other students and teachers. These friends also helped her become fluent in Filipino.
She participated in the Star Circle Quest talent competition, placing second due to her popularity. As a result, she entered the public eye at 21 and rose to fame in the Philippines.
Following her time in Philippine show business, where she amassed several TV series and films featuring her speaking fluent Tagalog, she packed up her life. Instead, she risked the fame she had gained there to pursue even greater dreams in South Korea, the entertainment capital of Asia.
Sandara Park trained for and eventually made her debut as a member of the super girl group 2NE1, which has shown to be an excellent, no, great decision. Despite the group’s dissolution years ago, 2NE1 continues to exert an unyielding influence on K-pop. Nevertheless, Sandara Park remained faithful to her identity as a Pinay at heart, never once forgetting her time in the Philippines, even achieving tremendous superstar status.
Sandara Park will always make time to support everything and everything Filipino, whether it be speaking Tagalog, reminiscing about the Philippines, or occasionally travelling back to the country she once called home.
