Despite being the only child of Fernando Poe Jr., the undisputed King of Philippine movies, Lovi Poe was able to forge her own way in the local entertainment industry and win the respect of many thanks to her alluring beauty, extraordinary ability, and generous spirit. She is therefore known as the “Precious Jewel”.
She is a Poe, therefore acting comes naturally to her. Since then, I’ve always regarded Lovi as one of the most adaptable actresses in the business. She’s one of the most attractive actresses you’ve ever seen Lovi Poe.
Poe was chosen by a foreign singing duo in 2006, and his song is featured on the duo’s debut album in the Philippines. In the teen-targeted series Love to Love, she was then initially paired with Cogie Domingo. She was chosen to play coveted to break into show business as an actor in the popular 2006 TV series, which gave her her biggest acting break to date. She won plaudits for her performance in the show from critics and the 21st PMPC Star Awards for Television’s Best New Female TV Personality.
For her part in the film Shake Rattle and Roll 9, Lovi got a New Movie Actress of the Year award at the 24th PMPC Star Awards for Movies in 2008.
Lovi joined the young-adult program on TV5 in the middle of May 2009. Due to network rules mandating that contract talent be exclusive to the network, her home network GMA-7 previously prohibited her from participating in the series. Their decision was justified, according to her management, because “Lovi does not have an existing deal with GMA.” Since that time, Lovi hasn’t made an appearance on any Kapuso Network programs. She reportedly considered offers to join the Kapamilya talent program following her rumoured boyfriend from GMA’s competitor ABS-CBN. She started appearing regularly in 2010 on the GMA Sunday noontime variety show. She starred in the independent movie for which she took home the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival Award for Best Actress in July 2010.
Also, in an article by ABS-CBN Entertainment, Lovi first discussed her relationship with her father while he was still alive in an interview she gave to Showbiz Inside Report in April 2013. Unbeknownst to many, she was born on February 11, 1989, and is the daughter of former model-actress Rowena Moran.
Despite the short amount of time she had with her father, they were able to enjoy many special and memorable experiences. She remembered the day when she misplaced the camera that her mother had given her as a gift. She asked his dad for assistance, and he swiftly got her a replacement that was identical so that she wouldn’t be scolded. Even though it wasn’t much of a deal, she was grateful that her dad had come through when she really needed him.
She was able to witness his demise on December 14, 2004, which is why it hurt her so deeply. She got the words “My Wings,” “My Gravity,” and “Quiet Child” tattooed on her body as a way to be reminded of the bond they once shared, but only the final one remained “because nobody knows the complete tale, our whole story.”
She also disclosed during that same Showbiz Inside Report interview that she didn’t anticipate working in the industry because her mother Rowena didn’t like the notion. But when the chance presented itself, she seized it and used it as a platform to assert herself.
She revealed in a 2013 Gandang Ganda Vice interview that another thing her mother used to be against was her taking on seductive parts and flaunting her stunning figure, but that she ultimately came around and now lets her pursue whatever career she wants.
Because it is, Lovi never gets weary of describing this career milestone as a dream come true. No other way to put it exists.
Her current career has been successful and well-received. Additionally, the fact that she only had positive things to say about her old network could have contributed. Building new ones to extend them, not burning any.
“You find so much beauty in taking up new challenges, exploring new territories and taking up new adventures, you know? You push yourself to the limit and see what it is that you can do, what it is that you can give,” Lovi muses. “It’s like I’ve reached the point in my career where I feel like there’s something that I could probably, possibly do that’s out of my comfort zone… I feel like it’s time to work with the best of the best of ABS-CBN.”
Despite being in a different time zone, Lovi is unwinding in bed after a long day by reading a fresh book, one of her favorite ways to unwind. With a cup of coffee in hand and the sun rising again tomorrow, she will be ready to face another event-filled day. Who knows, one morning may bring her to yet another significant achievement—there will undoubtedly be more.
