He began playing as a youth player back in 2000, at that point in time he was playing for the team “Estudiantes”, which he continued playing for even as a senior player for a while. It shows the amount of respect he has for his first professional team. Even now every time he gets the opportunity to speak for his team, he never misses and goes to lengths, saying all sorts of good things. He played for the team in almost 49 matches in just two years and he literally gave his best in almost all of the matches. He scored a total of 5 goals, which is really difficult being a defender, one hardly gets the chance to make such things possible. Later he was sold to Manchester United, which was in controversy for quite some time due to some reasons as it was done in the midst of the contract period. He played for Manchester United for almost 7 years and build a reputation as a core member of the team. He made 76 appearances and scored 1 goal. In 2021 he was signed to Boca Juniors and so far his stint as a Boca junior player is outstanding.

He has made a total of 61 appearances for Argentina’s national team and has so far scored 3 goals and has been the central pillar of the team’s defense. Although he had a flawless career in September he was reportedly suspended for a month due to his aggression.
