Rebecca Lim is widely regarded as one of the best actresses working in Singapore at the moment. In addition to possessing acting chops, she is a darling of advertisers and has sponsored various products, from automobiles to jewellery, vitamins, and skincare products. She has even been featured on the covers of several fashion magazines, including Her World. Before the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, she traveled the world to attend various fashion shows and events.
Rebecca competed in beauty pageants before she began her career in the entertainment industry. She was in the middle of competing in pageants for junior colleges when she received a request to try out for the role of Miss Universe Singapore 2005. During the auditions, she stood out from the other candidates because, unlike the others, she wore a one-piece swimsuit and brought an IC photo rather than a bikini and a model portfolio.
Rebecca may work in the media sector now, but when she was in school, she was more interested in the science stream, and the only interaction she had with the arts was moving props during school plays. Now, Rebecca may work in the media industry. She began acting part-time when she was still a student at Singapore Management University (SMU), from where she ultimately graduated with degrees in Accountancy and Law.
Rebecca made headlines when she and her assistant personally packed and delivered 400 care packages to frontline heroes in essential services such as taxi drivers and cleaners. Rebecca gave these care packages to elderly and less privileged people staying in one-room apartments. This is not a one-time occurrence.
The actress has been involved in various charitable activities over the past few years, including organising Chinese New Year lunches and lo hei sessions for older people who live alone, as well as delivering care packages with the help of her fan club members. In addition, the Singapore Cancer Society has appointed her as a Goodwill Ambassador, a role in which she helps spread awareness about the fight against cancer.
Rebecca disclosed that when she feels the need for a break, she disconnects from all of her social media accounts. She went on to say that you don’t need to take a break for an extended period – even an hour will do – and that you should concentrate on yourself rather than what others are doing and posting online during that time.
Get up and do something else, preferably something you take pleasure in. For Rebecca, she might have a facial or a massage that lasts for two hours, hang out with her best friends, get some exercise and sweat it out, or whip up a healthy smoothie for herself. Read a book or engage in other activities that have a beneficial effect on both your body and your mind.
Rebecca admitted that she was a defiant child who frequently got into trouble, to her mother’s dismay. This information came to light despite Rebecca exuding an endearing, girl-next-door attitude.
Rebecca felt sorry for her mother. She has been a terrible daughter in the past, but now she is trying to make amends. Both of her siblings excelled academically; in fact, her sister and brother served as head prefects and committee members.
