Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the former president and the current ruler of the UAE. He is the third son of the former UAE ruler named “Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum”. He became the Prime Minister and Ruler of UAE in 2006 and since then he has witnessed the advancement UAE has made as a country. UAE’s rise from a resource-rich but poor country to becoming one of the budding countries of the world, with big cities like DUBAI and is also a member country of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries), he has seen it all and has been a part of this change for almost a decade and a half now. He has witnessed the rise of DUBAI from a sand desert to one of the top-tier global cities of the world currently. He has been part of many development projects such as the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) creation in UAE, the Palm Islands and the Burj Khalifa. He is also a billionaire and reportedly derives all his wealth from his real estate. His son Hamid is currently the crowned prince of UAE and a popular internet personality.
Recently Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has frequently been in news since FTA talks between India and UAE, and UAE’s Vision 2022 is focused on a sustainable future for UAE as well as on promoting the same globally. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum stays active on his social media handles and frequently updates his followers regarding his major moves as the ruler of the UAE. He has been motivated toward the Sustainable development goals of the United Nations and he can be seen constantly making efforts to attain those goals. Recently a minister of his council inaugurated the 24th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), it was focused on bringing together major international companies who have specialisation in the respective sustainable energy and resources sectors to display newly innovated technologies and in turn most distinguished ones will be awarded investment by the government.
