One of the more than thirty children of the late King Abdullah is HRH Hayfa bint Abdullah Al Saud. Princess Hayfa completed her undergraduate degree at the Academy of Art University’s San Francisco Art School, where she was pursuing an MFA. Surreal interpretations of Arabic culture are the focus of her work. The royal has been exhibiting her work in Jeddah and New York, both in group and solo exhibitions, since 2016. In 2005, Princess Hayfa tied the knot with Prince Abdulaziz Bin Nawaf Bin Abdulaziz. Three children are theirs.
She continued her education at the Academy of Art University’s San Francisco Art School, where she received her degree in 2015. Since then, she has had solo and group exhibitions in New York and Jeddah, with the proceeds often going to charity. The exhibition by surrealist artist and Vogue Arabia cover star HRH Princess Hayfa bint Abdullah Al Saud was opened by a Saudi official in Riyadh. The surrealist style of the late King Abdullah’s daughter was showcased at the exhibition, which was anticipated to attract dignitaries and VIPs from the fashion and art industries.
Prior to her show, HRH Princess Hayfa states, “I speak through my paintbrush, by reaching a depth of imaginations that paint what my soul sees blindly.”
HRH Princess Hayfa took the wheel of a car to commemorate the lifting of the ban on Saudi women driving in the June 2018 issue of Vogue Arabia. The ground-breaking issue made headlines around the world. She spoke with Editor-in-Chief Manuel Arnaut in the issue about her beginnings in art and how they began under the guidance of Saudi artist Mona Al-Qasabi, an encounter that “changed her life forever.”
“Her royal highness is a generous woman with a truly elegant and noble presence… A mother of three, the princess dedicates her life to her family and her art. I was deeply honored when she accepted our invitation to grace our June cover,” Vogue Arabia’s editor-in-chief, Manuel Arnaut, said, according to the magazine.
