Krystin Lee is a Toronto-based digital artist who blogs about fashion, home design, cosmetics, and travel. She posts tidbits of her most recent ideas, including fashion, cosmetics, home décor, and more, on her lifestyle blog, Faux-Pas. In 2012, she started writing because she wanted a place to express her creativity. Krystin had no idea it would progress in such a way. She works as a social media strategist for a company just outside of Toronto when she isn’t blogging. Since graduating, she has worked in a variety of marketing and public relations positions. More recently, she has started to concentrate her efforts on helping customers increase their social media presence.
She is frequently questioned about blogging. Krystin is frequently asked if she plans to blog full-time, but she loves her job and wouldn’t change a thing. Even though she had always imagined herself as a city girl after graduating, she accompanied her husband to the suburbs and made the decision to make it her permanent home. Unfortunately, she never lost her urban flair, which frequently seems to perplex the neighbours who wonder why going supermarket or post office shopping, or even taking out the garbage, requires an outfit. It goes without saying that the site serves as her personal avenue for connecting with both suburban and city-dwelling hairdressers.
Krystin has been employed for Talk Shop Media for the past ten years in a variety of vice president, and digital responsibilities, from marketing communications to public relations. Through these varied jobs, she is able to collaborate with customers to comprehend their marketing and business objectives while developing strategic approaches to guarantee that their core messaging, brand ethos, and total delivery are in line. She has worked for clients like Iceberg Vodka, Fisherman’s Friend, Starbucks, Dove, WELL Health, and more in the industries of finance, hospitality, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, and more. Along with working in communications, she also runs the lifestyle blog Suburban Faux Pas, which Elle Canada named one of the best fashion magazine websites.
Krystin has enjoyed working with companies including L’oreal, Home Depot, Four Seasons Resorts, American Express, Nordstrom, and more. She has participated in organising 25+ yearly branch openings as part of the local area marketing team as a Marketing Communications Manager, at Marketing Communications CIBC. Planning for soft and formal opening events, pre- and post-launch marketing campaigns (including radio, web, and newspaper ads), and coordinated marketing messages to all branches nationally were all part of the executions. In the Canadian market, she was in charge of reactive and proactive outreach on behalf of the brand’s Delta Faucet, Brizo, Hansgrohe, and AXOR to journalists, trade magazines, and influencers. I collaborated with the departments of Creative and Digital Marketing to make sure that North American launches, initiatives, key messages, and other mandates were properly delivered. Krystin enjoys going to in-person sales whenever possible, so one time she hurried to her neighbourhood Nordstrom to see what she could find. This floral dress from Joie was a deal and an instant necessity. With up to 50% off popular brands, it’s the ideal way to start your winter wish list without breaking the bank, but she was also shocked to discover that this blogger-favourite Cult Gaia purse was included in the sale.
