Read MoreHey Guys! Today's Cake recipe is bit different, it's specially for those who are bit shy of eating cakes because of dite concious, but no more today I will be sharing with you a cake which is made of Jowar. So let's go to the recipe "Eggless Gluten Free Chocolate Cake with Rose Buttercream"? Ingredients: -1½ cups jowar flour -¾ cup cocoa powder -A pinch of salt -1 teaspoon baking powder -½ teaspoon baking soda -¾ cup vegetable oil -1½ cups caster sugar -½ cup yogurt -½ teaspoon vanilla extract -¾ cup milk For rose buttercream: -½ cup softened butter -1 cup icing sugar (sifted) -1tsp rose extract -2-3 drops of pink food colouring Instructions: 1.In a large bowl, sift through the jowar flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set this aside. 2.In a separate bowl, combine sugar and oil. Using a whisk mix this really well, until it is light and fluffy. 3.Into the sugar and oil mixture. Add the yoghurt and vanilla extract. Combine this well as well. 4.Fold half of the dry mix that was set aside earlier, fold in gently using a spatula. 5.Add the milk to the batter and combine it well. Finally add the leftover dry mix and mix until no large flour pockets remain. 6.Transfer the batter into two 6’ inch round pans which are greased and lined with parchment. 7.Bake the cakes @180C for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. 8.To prepare the frosting, in a large bowl add the softened butter and beat it on high speed using an electric whisk. Beat until light and fluffy. Add in the rose extract and food colour and beat again to combine. 9.Sift in the icing sugar, initially mixing in with a spatula and finishing it off with the electric whisk. 10.Once the cakes have cooled down completely, spread the frosting and layer the cakes. enjoy! Hope you like it. Do share your experience ❤️

Read MoreThe Bangles My mother would keep her bangles in boxes under the bed, “No- one will find them there”,she’d say. In the dark hours of the night, when my mother and brother snored, and my father was out working, I’d hear the boxes move, the bangles clinking, just like they would clink on my mother’s wrist. My mother counted the bangles everyday, she would flare up in tyranny if there was one missing here or there, she wouldn’t eat that day or comb her hair or wear her vermillion, we would find the missing bangle, a day or two later, lying right next to the boxes. My mother wouldn’t be surprised, she’d place it back in. One night, the bangles did not clink , My mother didn’t sleep that night, She roamed about the house like a hungry wolf, searching, seeking as if her soul was lost and she was looking for it. At dawn, the bangles clinked. My mother fell fast asleep. A few days later,a new maid was anointed. She would clean and sweep and dust and wash. She would cook and cut and grind and mix. And she would steal. She stole my little pen stand, she stole my brother’s piggy bank, she stole spoons and forks and knives, vases and scarves, bottles and socks. one day she stole and never returned. the bangle box was gone. My mother didn’t sleep that night, she didn’t sleep the next, after that, she never slept, until one day, when she fell down with a thud and succumbed to sleep, deep slumber, deep, deep slumber that lasted forever. the next day, while I lay in bed at night, I heard the clinking sound, the clinking sound of bangles, just like they would on my mother’s wrist. . . .
