Perfection, the greatest obstacle. The Pyramids. The Mona Lisa. The best book you ever read. All of it could have been better…if the maker put in more time and effort crafting it. Maybe! The pursuit of perfection is a never-ending one. And we often get caught in it. I always do! In my effort to get it right, I often miss the right time. To me, it seems like the greatest hurdle. It prevents me from taking the plunge. It stops me from making a mistake and learning from it. It allows time to fly by. It gives others a chance do what I had been contemplating. It’s time I settled for mediocrity. So I can begin and learn along the way – one step at a time. Because it is not possible to get it right at the outset. One must stumble and then walk to be ready to run.
