Fashion and the psychology behind! Meaning Fashion is something which will Say who you are. People will judge you on the basis of what you wear. Everyone prefers fashion even if they are not interested in it. It is something which always keeps us trendy and updated. Fashion differs from person to person. Fashion can be anything that is dressing, hairstyle, shoes, tattoo, piercing navel and goes on. Psychology behind fashion As we know fashion reflects our identity. One should also know the psychology behind fashion. We need to understand the significance of clothing choices regardless of our gender. Whether you are a male or a female your choices should not affect your self-image. It is important to choose your dress style carefully because people will judge on bases of what they wear. In fashion psychology they use the term called 'unclothed cognition'-dressing how you want to feel. Psychologist also proved this that is color will change the mood of the person. The majority will dress for themselves and there are some cases that they will dress for the sake of others also. Fashion keeps on changing and this changing style will reflects ones changing attitude. Fashion is everywhere and it is one the way of communication. This keeps changing often and it cannot be stay unchanged. It also goes beyond aesthetic values. As Edith Head says “you can have anything you want in life if you dress for it". Is fashion equivalent to empowerment Let’s not forget to thank the fashion industry for making up the right size chart for human existence (without which the world would have become extinct by now!). You might say that such opinions are of past by I say otherwise. Late Karl Lagerfeld, the most famous fashion designer of the exquisite fashion brand "Chanel" once said in an interview about a German women magazine. “You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly. The world of beautiful clothing is about ‘dreams and illusions.’" Now that's scary!! It's true that many agencies are supporting plus sized models; well what I can see is that it's being done for the sake of it so that no one blames them for not being inclusive. But the truth is, they in no terms are celebrating all the body types and you being yourself. Well, we must educate the leaders of fashion industry that women come in different shapes and sizes. It's not just hour glass but pear, oval, rectangular, inverted triangle, stout, tall, thick and thin. Fashion culture In India, dressing is a major aspect in which people are judged upon. From the very long, i.e. from the British times, we were judged on the basis of our dressing and fashion we followed. But, the present generation's fashion and dressing has been influenced by the British women and highly rich officials. We also observe that many foreigners attire themselves traditionally and dress up same like our Indians. This is also a different type of change seen in various countries about their dressing. Changes are frequently made, so it is also very important to adapt to it. Different changes in the society and market, define different types of dressing and fashion. Fashion and dressing determines our country's view and motive towards success and development. Therefore, dressing has a deep relationship and connection with fashion and leads to a great change and evolution. Boys and girls lack confidence in them and find themselves under confident and backward when they are unable to matchup with the society in looks and money. People harass themselves to cut off the fear of being judged by the harsh society and end up being hurt and exploited either on basis of standard or looks or anything else that is related to them Conclusion It is important to make people understand that the fashion doesn’t need to be copied at the cost of yourself instead it should be wearied only to look good and feel confident about yourself and not just to make yourself superior from others. So, on a brighter note, everyone is evolving fashionably and indeed, everyone is artistic enough to be fashionable.
