I have dedicated my body to another human life for the past 2 year. Trying to conceive, being pregnant, recovering from birth, breastfeeding. This intense and amazing process has blessed me with the one most beautiful girl this world. . . Journey of montherhood is about sacrificing your own comfort for that small life entered in this world. This is indeed the most sacred form of unconditional love. It is the most important part of the whole motherhood journey because the breastfeeding is like one way of connecting soul of mother and the child, it is intangible yet the strongest and most divine way of integration of two bodies and soul. Everyone has their own special journey, different but unique and wonderful. Here I m talking about my own beautiful journey. . I feel one of the reason my journey was special because it was a longer than usual these days. My baby enjoyed breastfeed for more than 2 year which is seldom these days. Towards the end I have been criticised by a lot of people that I m doing it for too long but what I believe is my baby deserves to feed for a substantial amount of time & eventually the time will come when she will stop. So I decided to keep her feeding. The reason being given to stop breastfeeding is that the growing child doesn’t get all the nutrition which they need for that age. I would say give them other supplementary food instead of stoping breastfeed. . The beginning of my journey was easy as I was blessed with good knowledge about breastfeed through books, elder & Dr. who helped me with everything I could have ever needed. . Unlike starting, . The concluding of my journey was the most difficult part. Even though I was trying to stop breastfeed but at the same time it was such a relucting time. I was in a post-weaning depression because I was scared that I m going to lose that bond or connection with my child I had. . I will talk about my post-weaning depression in my next post. . . . .
