Generation Aami is a Bengali movie which revolves around Apu, a tenth standard student in Kolkata, and his cousin sister Durga, visiting from Delhi. Apu’s parents put a lot of pressure on him to perform well in his board exams, join the science stream, and clear the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE). His parents disciplined him way more than it's required and gave him little freedom to do as he liked. As a result, he felt as if he had not quite grown up. He loved to write music, play guitar, and sing, but was he was badly discouraged from doing so by his parents. While Apu’s parents worried about him too much, Durga’s parents completely neglected her and was busy with their own life and their status. They left her to struggle, pretending her depression had nothing to do with them. They sent her to Kolkata, because she was rumored to receive psychiatric treatment. Whenever she called them, they would hastily hang up making worthless excuses. When she said her maternal uncle had molested her but her mother refused to believe it. Durga and Apu had been brought in considerably different environments. She impressed Apu by talking back to his mother, and her aunt at the dinner table, something he would have never dared to do. It seemed she could act exactly as she liked. An unlikely friendship blossomed between them, as Apu was the only person who asked Durga why she tried to kill herself once. Soon, Apu was breaking away from the obedient, submissive son he was accustomed to being. He started breaking the rules set out by his parents. By encouraging him to talk to his crush Piya and to play at his school’s open-mic music festival, Durga helped Apu find his voice. On her birthday, on the pretext of buying herself a present, she bought him a guitar. She urged him to get a piercing. Durga was undergoing treatment for clinical depression in Delhi, while she was sent to Kolkata. She refrained from taking her prescribed pills as the side effects were quite difficult. She also stopped going for counseling. Her condition worsened. Her boyfriend Sourav refrained from speaking to her on the phone. When she decided to call him and confess her love, his wife picked up the phone. Remembering Apu’s mother’s words, Durga called her parents, who for one last time evaded her calls. She decided to end her life by jumping off a building, and this time succeeded. Apu’s father felt that Durga’s suicide was an act of selfishness, and that she acted irresponsibly. This sparked a confrontational exchange between Apu and his father. Apu accused his father of caring about IIT, only for the sake of the family’s image. In response, his father says that all he wants is that Apu does not end up struggling for money as he is. Apu asserted his right to pursue music if he chooses. He disobeyed his father, and decides to perform at the Gaanwala. Apu’s grandmother reminded her son that he too was once passionate about music, and that he could not have performed as well on stage if she had not been there to cheer him on. This urged Apu’s parents to quickly get ready and go watch him perform. His performance brings a tear to Piya’s eye. The movie ends with a sequence from a year later, when Apu ties a letter to Durga to a set of balloons, and releases it into the sky. He had grown up, taken the science stream, and decided to write the JEE, while also pursuing music seriously. Generation Aami depicts the generation gap in a manner which does justice to both sides of the story. It illuminates the anxieties surrounding the future forced upon students appearing for the board examinations by parents who are convinced that a good education is a recipe to a good life. The fissure between and realities is portrayed. It takes viewers through the rebellious phase so vital to individuation. At every step, Generation Aami casually exposes the hypocrisy implicit in the stigmas imposed by society. It also exposes veiled misogyny in the exchanges between Apu’s parents, where Apu’s father shifts the entire parental responsibility for Apu’s mistakes upon his mother, referring to Apu as “your son”. Despite all this, the movie does not vilify Apu’s father, but rather, portrays him as a product of the circumstances of his life. Such a portrayal of characters encourages insightful empathy from viewers. Most importantly, Generation Aami depicts a person with depression in a positive and agentic manner. Even her struggle, Durga made Apu’s life better by offering him a way out of his ‘imprisonment’ at home. In Apu’s own words, Durga was the best thing to ever happen to him. The movie offers a nuanced exploration of the psychosocial factors contributing to depression. In doing so, it somewhat criticises the over-medicalisation of depression, yet not at the risk of its complete de-medicalisation. Some questions surrounding mental health remain unresolved, such as the question of side effects, and the overpowering feeling of helplessness. Watching the movie, I laughed and cried in equal measure. The soundtrack, which may be described as glocal resonates the emotional tenor of the movie. It gives an aural expression to Apu’s aspirations. The movie encourages us to reflect on several taken-for-granted social issues which we may encounter at some point in our lives. We become aware of how not to treat a person with depression. In conclusion, one can hope that mental illness will be portrayed in a more authentic and equally empathetic manner in movies to come.

There is another character names Katherine who is a doppelganger of Elena and story revolves around them. The plot twist involves the fight of wolves and vampires and how Elena dies and become one of the Vampire. The Salvatore brothers tries to protect Elena till the last and this show is all about the beautiful bonds and relationships. The bond between the Salvatore brothers is absolutely amazing. It shows the relationship of a mother and daughter, a brother and sister, the friends and even the respect between the enemies. There are a lot of plot twist and drama in this whole series and this is by far my favourite Netflix shows.

Dark is a German science fiction thriller web series which is created by Baron bo Odar and Jantje Friese . It was first aired on December 1, 2017. It comprises of three seasons and the last season was released on June 27, 2020. This web series has received critical acclaim, with praise for its marvelous acting, casting and complexity of the story. Dark web series is just full off characters where each one of them is just equally important as the other. This series includes the concepts of time travel alternate worlds. The story starts with the situation where children are vanishing from the city of Winden. The story revolves around the Dophler, Kahnwald, Tiedman and the Nielson family. In the first season, the story begins in the year 2019 and later moves on to the previous generation of these families in 1986 and 1953 via travel, when the members of these families came across a wormhole in the Winden caves below the local nuclear power plant. During the first season the some shocking secrets of these four families were revealed. In the second season these families continue to find some loose ends where some reunite with their loved ones. This season begins in 2020 and later moves to 1987 and 1954 respectively. In this season finale we see the death of Martha, the lover of Jonas who was one of the main characters and in the next scene we see another Martha who came from the alternate world to save Jonas from the apocalypse which was going to take place in the Winden city. In the third season, every confusion regarding family tree and alternate universe came to an end when a scientist named Regina Tiedmann finally solved the confusing and stated that from where this “knot” started and every event went on a never-ending loop, which ultimately led to the apocalypse take place in everyone’s world. The third season includes some small events from years like 1888, 1954, 1987, 2020 and 2053 in the first world and 2019 and 2052 in the second world which were important. Ultimately the problem was solved by Regina and the knot was broken and the loop came to an end. In the last scene, Martha and Jonas were wiped from any form of existence. They don’t die but they stopped existing altogether. This is one of the best series I have watched till now. The first and second season is very confusing and the viewer won’t be able to understand anything in spite of receiving the spoilers but all confusions and theories are cleared out in the finale season. At last both Jonas and Martha said ,”You and I are perfect for each other…..never believe anything else….”. Both of them were nothing but just a “Glitch in a matrix”.

The web series, Made In heaven was a conglomerate of all the heavy topics we witness in our societal circle but choose to acclaim openly. With a tint of apt amount of drama, emotions and lust, the web series was an eye-catching narrative which one can never afford to be affected from. With exquisite display of all the characters, be it the flamboyant yet unsatisfied characters from the Khanna family or the upper middle class facing the pinch of society and monetary ordeals or the lower class of family, struggling for money and class, yet contended with the diverse shortcomings of their life and lifestyle. All the characters posses a unique portrayal of their flashy lifestyles and intriguing dissatisfaction, basking the hollowness we all carry with ourselves but very hesitant to admit it up-front. The makers and producers of the show have chose it all, the dark secrets of infidelity, deep-rooted male chauvinism, the scary family pressure or the sexual orientation. One by one, every flawed reality in our lives has been kicked with a bang, forcing the audience to do nothing but admit it. The favorites one being Tara and Karan, all other characters too have been able to bag the accolades with their confused, yet dicey mind sets. The bride being carried away by the fortune her in-laws posses, the groom accepting her alleged-to-kiss bride for the genuine and deep-rooted love he has, the family grip that's so unnerving that even murder, alias is an option for the bride because it has political agenda to serve, the fear a mother of differently sexually oriented kid lives with, the secrecy of one's own nuances people carry for half of their lives fearing what society might think of them, the groom's approval to dowry tradition, even after being an IIT graduate or the old aged love saga is all we have been aware of but do not give a thought just because we are not hit by it personally. The web series on a whole might be too heavy to handle or in harsher words, very depressing to take hold of but in the end, we can never deny the fact that these flaws can ever be amputated from our dark society, thus moving each one us through the swashbuckling series. All in whole, the series gripped our attention and was indeed a must watch entertainer
